For this release we've done a lot of work under the hood getting ready to do BOL imports for customers. We're ready to start talking to customers who want to create the BOL in their own software and send us a data file to import so they can track the shipment in our application and run reports. As we get the details hammered out we'll post more information. We can also send information in the other direction. We already have some customers who are creating their BOLs in our application, then the data is exported to them. Customers who are interested in either of these can contact us any time.
We have also fixed a long list of minor bugs and made several small improvements to the software. The first one you might notice is a little note at the top of the rating page. It lets our customers know that they may get a better rate for large LTL shipments by calling our LTL office and asking for a spot quote.
You may also see a button labeled "Add another item" on the rate page. If you're shipping more than 6 items, click on it to create more spaces to enter items.
In the rate results you may notice that the terminal information now includes toll free numbers where they're available. We added this and updated our terminal database, which now includes information on 376,340 carrier terminals.
If you're ever received an email telling you that a BOL has been updated, you know that it can be a pain to compare the old and new BOLs to try and find out what has changed. The update email will now list the fields that have changed, so you can take care of the change or ignore it if the field isn't important.
The email addresses for notifications are now set per user rather than per customer. You can go to the settings tab to check your email notification settings. This will allow more fine-grained control of who gets emails for each user's shipments. Keep this in mind when setting up a new user. You'll have to enter any email addresses you want for every user you create. This will be a part of setting up the default settings for a new user.
There were a few changes in the admin section which will allow us to enter rates more accurately and to track down problems more quickly. Admin users can contact Danny, Jim or Mike to learn more about these.
Thanks to everyone who made suggestions for these changes.
